Find Your Way Toward Natural Healing

Holistic Healing Practices are Underrated

Can you answer "yes" to any of the following questions?

1. Do you find yourself searching for a pain killer when you have a headache?

2. Do you use topical ointments to temporarily relieve joint or back pain?

3. Do you take calcium supplements or any prescription in hopes it will curb your chances at developing Osteoporosis?

If you can answer yes to at least one of these questions, you are not alone. Many Americans look to oral, topical, or intravenous medicines to relieve pain or to treat symptoms. Have you ever paused to think about what the cause of your pain is? Behind every symptom is a cause; whether it be a slight imbalance, irregularity, or even a larger problem such as an infection or disease. Temporarily treating the symptoms will only get you so far-- your body becomes immune to these pain killers and desensitized as you increasingly pump chemicals through your system. Holistic healing practices are underrated, but the idea behind "natural healing" is to treat the cause, not the symptom.

Needle Acupuncture

The most traditional form of Acupuncture is Needle Acupuncture, which uses ultra fine needles in strategic pressure points. These points control the flow of specific types of energy or "Qi" throughout your body. Acupuncture is effective for many reasons. It acts as a natural anesthetic, releasing endorphins and dopamine that help give pain relief without a pill or ointment. In addition to this, Acupuncture provides healing by decreasing inflammation and increasing blood circulation.

Are you worried that all of those needles would be painful? Don't fret, the needles are so incredibly thin that most people don't feel anything. Acupuncture needles are as thin as the common human hair, which makes them virtually impossible to feel! Still not sure about needles? Laser Acupuncture is also an effective way to treat and reduce your pain. Some places like Alternative Health Clinic offers the most painless Acupuncture in Myrtle Beach.

Interesting and Effective Back Pain Treatments

What is "cupping"? If you are like me, you probably have never heard of such a thing, especially in relation to alternative medicine or back pain therapy. This technology is a new form of alternative therapy, and is intriguing to say the least. First of all, what exactly is it? Cupping is a certain therapy that uses different sizes of cups placed on certain parts of the body that are experiencing pain or discomfort. Cupping is often used for acute and chronic back pain, neck pain and tightness, muscle spasms and hip or other joint pain. Also, it has been proven that cupping helps take away minor cold and flu symptoms.

Cupping works by each cup of differing sizes forming suctions, creating a vacuum on the skin. The cup can either be left in place or quickly transferred to another area experiencing similar pain (or for wide-spread pain). The practice of moving the suction cup around to different areas quickly is called "quick fire cupping" (sounds a little scary, no?) and can be very effective for chronic widespread pain such as back pain.

So how is it that cupping helps? It has been discovered that all forms of cupping bring different symptoms closer to the surface, such as muscle tightness/spasms. Cupping also heals pulled or inflamed muscles by increasing blood circulation to a small area quickly to give a muscle more "breathing room".

Like every "alternative healing" practice, cupping has been proven to help tremendously for some, where as others have seen no impact. When visiting my alternative health doctor, I try to have an open mind and be accepting to all forms of natural healing. Most people reading this have probably never experienced alternative health practices, but if you are interested in looking into it, alternative health clinic of Myrtle Beach has some great information as well as customer testimonies. This clinic is also nationally known for chiropractic in Myrtle Beach, as well as acupuncture in Myrtle Beach.
